Before I became a massage therapist, I worked in corporate America. One of my jobs was in marketing, and I was pretty good at it. But I knew deep down that there was something else I was supposed to do. After a lot of searching, I finally found out what I was meant to do: help people overcome health problems.
In 1990, I began practicing massage in San Francisco. My mission to help heal people began. At first, I worked as an employee until I worked my way up to having my own independent massage practice. My clients come from five different continents and all walks of life: athletes, dancers, business people, travelers, health care professionals, and anyone wanting to improve their well-being.
I’ve battled fibromyalgia… That’s why I can empathize with what it takes to overcome debilitating illness. I’ve overcome injuries and other physical challenges to gain the strength, flexibility, and balance to pursue the physically demanding profession of massage therapy. It is my mission to help give my clients a sense of the power they have to take control of their own well-being… and live a more fulfilling and happy life.
Grounded yet spiritual at the same time, I’ve never stopped studying the therapeutic arts. My eyes are always open to what can help my clients. I’ve been trained in many disciplines. Here are just a few examples. - Swedish massage - Acupressure - Soft tissue release - Neuro-muscular therapy - Pregnancy massage - Source Point Therapy
My philosophy is to help you get to the root of the problem. If the pain in a wrist is actually caused by something in the neck, we’ll figure it out together. If you need help from another health care professional, I’m happy to refer you, because sometimes massage is only one piece of the puzzle. Whatever help you need, I’ll do my best to help you get that help.
Each person is different… And I customize your massage to who you are and what you need that day. No two massages will be exactly the same. I might focus more on Swedish one day, and more on soft tissue release another day. There’s no set plan, because you are different each time. And what you need may be different each time.
I feel very fortunate to be helping my clients while living in a great city: San Francisco. When I’m not working, I enjoy dancing Argentine Tango, attending interesting presentations (my favorite scientist is Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson), and watching baseball games. And yes, I’ll admit it; sometimes I just relax in front of the TV. (Nobody’s perfect! )
